Galaxy S10 Lite, which came out back in 2020, never really got its successor. What we actually got was the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, and that too half a year later. To recall, the phone was introduced with Android 10 out of the box. Later, it received its first firmware update in the form of Android 11. Fast forward to now, Android 12 is knocking on the doors of the device. As per SamMobile, the Android 12 One UI 4.0 update is currently live for the international variant of the Galaxy S10 Lite. Notably, model number SM-G770F of the device is picking up the update. Talking about the update, it brings along all the traditional Android 12 features such as Material You theme, dynamic color support, new widgets, a rounded corner for all UI elements, privacy and security enhancements, and more for the device. On top of this, Samsung has bundled more features with One UI 4.0 in-house skin. It includes features like an extra dim brightness feature, quick settings for accessing the camera and mic, etc.
Galaxy S10 Lite users in Spain are currently receiving the Android 12 update
The update is currently live for Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite users in Spain. However, it is expected to start rolling out in other regions of the world very soon. It arrives with firmware version G770FXS6FULA and also bumps the security patch level to December 1, 2021. The December security patch brings a bunch of security and privacy enhancements, which makes it pretty important. For more information, you can visit the Samsung Security Bulletin. As usual, the update is rolling out via OTA in batches, meaning it will take some time before arriving for all devices. Luckily, you can check for the Android 12 update on your Galaxy S10 Lite manually as well. To do that, you need to head over to Settings > Software update and hit the Download and install button. The system will check for the update on its servers, and if detects one, it will prompt you to install the update. All you need to do is simply press the Download button. Android 12 is the second major firmware update for the Galaxy S10 Lite. There is one more Android OS update left in the bank for the Galaxy S10 Lite, as per Samsung’s new update policy, which promises three firmware updates for devices sold on or after 2019.
