Samsung began seeding Android 13 to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra early last week. The initial rollout covered devices in Europe. The company gradually expanded the update to other markets. It has now reached the US too. The carrier-locked devices are picking up the big Android update with firmware version G99*USQU5DVK3 (via). The new software package also brings the November security patch, which fixes more than 60 vulnerabilities. If you’re using a Galaxy S21 series Samsung flagship in the US, the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 will roll out to you over the air (OTA) shortly. As usual, you will get a notification about it. You can tap on the notification to download and install the new Android version on your phone. To manually check for the update, navigate to Settings> Software update and tap on Download and install. Since it’s a major Android OS update, you might want to connect your phone to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the OTA package. As for the content of this update, there’s plenty to look forward to. Samsung calls One UI 5.0 its most refined custom Android software yet. It has tweaked the UI and improved system animations to give you a smoother user experience. The company has also added new customization options, features, new camera tools, new editing features, and more new features. Samsung’s Android 13 update reaches Galaxy S21 units in the US
Samsung has been rolling out the stable Android 13 update to its devices since last month. Following the early release of the new Android version for the Galaxy S22 series, it updated a bunch of other flagships and mid-range models last week. The Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy A53 5G, and several other devices picked up the update last week. The Korean firm is now expanding the rollout for these devices to more markets while simultaneously releasing Android 13 for other eligible devices.
