This is the same chip that’s inside of the ASUS ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro. The latter of which we reviewed last week, calling it the “final boss of gaming phones.” In addition to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Redmagic 7S series devices also both come with a cooling fan built-in to keep the temperatures down. As heat has become one of the common issues with gaming phones due to all the power they provide for a better gaming experience.
The Redmagic 7S series offers multiple configurations
There are numerous configuration options for both models of this new device. Though really the only thing you’re looking at choosing between are the amount of RAM and storage. The Redmagic 7S and 7S Pro both offer three options here. If you go with the 7S model, you’ll get 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM with either 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. The 7S Pro meanwhile offers 12GB, 16GB, or 18GB of RAM, and either 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage. Both phones also offer a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display panel. But the 7S gets the higher 165Hz refresh rate with a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. The 7S Pro dumps the refresh rate down to 120Hz but the touch sampling rate goes up to 960Hz. So there is a bit of tradeoff. Other key spec and feature highlights include a 5,000mAh battery in the 7S Pro with support for up to 135W quick charging, a 4,500mAh battery in the 7S with support for 120W fast charging, WiFi6 support, and three rear cameras featuring a 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. Nubia is launching these phones in China starting July 11, with the global version of the 7S Pro launching on July 26.
Nubia enters the PC gaming market
When it comes to PC gaming accessories, there are tons of options out there. Nubia is now throwing its hat in the ring with its first generation of Redmagic PC gaming accessories. This will include a 4K 160Hz mini-LED monitor with a 27-inch panel, a Redmagic keyboard, and a Redmagic mouse with micro switches for “excellent flexibility.” Nubia has not yet announced pricing or availability of its PC gaming accessories.
