As usual, there isn’t any new feature included with the update. Because this security update is purely incremental in nature. However, general bug fixes and stability improvements are a part of it. It is recommended that you update your carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy S10 series phones with the latest security patch, as it fixes over 60 vulnerabilities related to data and privacy. Notably, Sprint and T-Mobile Galaxy S10 users are picking up the update
For now, only Sprint and T-Mobile Galaxy S10 series mobile owners are receiving the latest October update on their devices. Other carriers are expected to join the bandwagon soon. Talking about the firmware, it arrives with version G97xUSQS6GUJ1 on the Sprint network. Whereas, the T-Mobile network is rolling out the update with firmware version G977TUVS8FUJ1 for the Galaxy S10 5G (SM-G977T). The update simply bumps the security patch level to October 1, 2021. We advise you to download the update on a stable mobile internet or Wi-Fi network to avoid any errors during installation. Sadly, the size of the update and the official changelog is not known at the moment. If your phone hasn’t picked up the update, you can check for it manually. In order to do that, simply head over to the Settings menu, then tap on Software updates. Here, tap on the Download and Install button. This will be looking for a new update, and if it detects one, you can tap on the notification to start the download process. To recall, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S10 series almost 3 years ago. At that time, Samsung didn’t introduce changes to its update policy of providing three years of OS update.
