T-Mobile OnePlus 9 & 9 Pro models are finally getting Android 12

Having said that, T-Mobile variants of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are getting the update basically three months later than unlocked models. The software versions of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro updates are LE2117_11.C.16 and LE2127_11.C.16, respectively. This update does bring Android 12 to the two devices, along with OxygenOS 12, and February 2022 security patches. Some general improvements and fixes are mentioned in the changelog as well. Now, the company’s official changelog lists only the things we’ve mentioned, with the exception of OxygenOS 12. It’s rather odd that OnePlus didn’t include a proper changelog into the mix, as this update does bring a lot of changes.

OxygenOS 12 brings a ton of changes

A brand new UI is rolled out, with a ton of features, not only Android 12 ones, but OxygenOS 12 features as well. You’re not getting the always-accessible Shelf, from the notification bar, if you choose to keep it that way. Some changes to fonts have been issued, along with a rather notable change in the UI design. You’ll see that throughout the entire UI. Some functional changes are also made, plus some changes to the phone’s AOD (Always On Display) feature. Various OnePlus apps have been updated with new features and functionality, new customization options have been added, along with new options for the dark mode, and so on Those of you who are eager to get this update, and would like to install it manually via the local upgrade option… well, you can’t. That option is not available on the carrier models, unfortunately. You’ll just have to wait for the update to arrive. Your phone will notify you once it arrives, but you can always check for it manually. Navigate to the phone’s Settings and then ‘System Updates’ to check for yourself.
